Getting started!

"I want to bring Fields of Faith to my area, but where do I start?"

Here are five things that can be done to bring Fields of Faith to your area.

  1. Do you already have a field? Use the find a field tool to see if there is a field in your area (or if there was a field in your area last year). Sometimes it makes sense to have multiple fields in an area and some times it's better to concentrate your efforts to one field. There are no rules written in stone. Registration will not start until August 1, 2009.
  2. Who are you?
    1. Student - A high school student interested in learning about the event.
    2. Student Leader - A high school student looking to fill a leadership position and/or give a student testimony.
    3. Adult Leader - An involved parent, teacher, coach, graduate or local college student who wants to get involved in bringing this event to your local school.
    4. Youth Pastor - A pastor from a local church or maybe an FCA staff person who can provide biblical leadership and assist with the student leader testimonies.
    5. Parent - Are you a parent who is just looking to learn more about the event.
  3. Contact the local FCA staff person. They may not have all the answers, but it's good to let them know you are planning to do this event. They can help find resources and get in touch with people who can help bring this event to your area.
  4. The planning team. This is an important phase in bringing this event to your area. This team, in an ideal situation, will have student leaders, youth pastor(s), "go-to" parents, teachers, or coaches and FCA volunteers.
  5. This isn't specifically an FCA event. Example: There was no FCA at a particular High School so a Young Life group wanted to put an event on. They brought Fields of Faith to their campus and it was a huge success.

It's important to read the content on the website and remember there is no single way to bring this event to your area. Different situations will call for different solutions. Now you can register your field and start using the resources on this site to have a great Fields of Faith event in your area!
